The Meaning of Our Crest *
Sword and Shield
The sword symbolizes power, courage, and the ability to act, while the shield represents defense, safety, and the ability to withstand adversity. Together, they can also symbolize a leader's role in balancing the needs of their team and the goals of the organization.
Wreath Around the Sheild
A wreath, especially a laurel wreath, surrounding a shield typically symbolizes victory, triumph, and honor. In ancient times, laurel wreaths were awarded to military leaders and other notable figures for their achievements. The shield itself symbolizes protection and defense, and the wreath adds a layer of meaning related to success and accomplishment.
The Uplifted Hands
Uplifting or raising hands symbolize prayer, praise, worship, surrender, offering, or even celebration. It is also a gesture of agreement or sustaining. The uplifted hand to God also symbolizes our faith and spirituality.
The Owl
In Western culture and throughout history, the owl is widely recognized as a symbol of wisdom, knowledge, vigilance, intuition, and change. The Owl encourages us as leaders to broaden our horizons and to utilize our knowledge and wisdom to pursue change.
The Open Hand
An open hand symbolizes openness, receptiveness, and generosity, both in literal and figurative senses. It can represent willingness to give, receive, and be open to new experiences. The open hand is also associated with peace, reassurance, and freedom from holding onto anything.
The Balance Scales
Symbolize Integrity, justice, impartiality, truth, and fairness. As an organization pursuing change, we will seek to apply a fair and balanced structure in which these elements will always outweigh any and all resistance.
OUR HISTORY
The Brotherhood was founded on April 20, 2023, in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, by like-minded men of African descent who were born before 1973.
The Brotherhood of Forerunners began as a group of likeminded retired or semi-retired men who regularly gathered for breakfast and enjoyed each other’s company through sports and lively discussions about events of the day.
Our original intention was simply to relax, engage in conversation, fellowship, sharing life stories.
After a couple of years, we discovered that we had bonded around a common purpose to serve others. We decided to pool our talents and experiences, to organize our group, and to design and undertake our Mission.
The men of The Brotherhood come from a wide range of backgrounds, including lawyers, doctors, dentists, pilots, financial advisors, military officers and non-commissioned officers, teachers, principals, realtors, chiefs of police, accountants, entrepreneurs, executives, politicians, and career civil servants.

The BrotherHood was founded on April 12, 2023, in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, by like-minded men of common heritage who were born before 1973.
Members of The BrotherHood are men whose major life intention is to build a legacy of leadership, and to inspire, guide and support men of the generations that will follow us.
Membership requires a reflective spirit, human understanding, the power to focus attention on service, respect, brotherly love, and a compassionate recognition of human need.
The BrotherHood is open to all men who qualify, regardless of race, culture, origin, political preference, affiliation, or contrarian point of view.
Our Purpose is to combine our gifts and talents in the pursuit of equality, successful living, and justice by:
· Serving as mentors to young male adults who were born into an environment that minimizes opportunities for natural growth, development, and success.
· Identifying and pursuing civic projects and collective activities that result in the unity and betterment of the communities in which we reside.
· Forming a bridge to our past and a focus on the future of our country by recalling and sharing our life histories and experiences, and those of our kindred who have conquered trials and adversity along the path to the present.
· Promote the design of a future where all men, regardless of descent, are essential players and valuable contributors to a prosperous and peaceful society.
· Equipping the younger generation to live constructively and creatively, in peace and prosperity.

Our aspiration is to create an environment and build a space for men who embrace our unified vision and our common destiny; where our individual differences can be subordinated to the Will of our Creator and the greater good; where those who gather can appreciate the power of the one life and the love of the one soul; and where We Serve as a Beacon and Guide into the Future of our emerging Society.

Moreover, we will strive to develop a community that equips and enables black youth and men to make values-based decisions, learn tangible skills, constructively, and creatively contribute to the betterment of the global community. Finally, we will leverage our gifts and talents in the pursuit of human equality, successful living, and justice.
